I always try to hold out starting our house heater until November because October is such a tease. She'll have a week of very warm weather and then a cold snap. This weather pattern was rather abruptly changed Friday when we started the day with a slight wind and a sprinkle or two. And that was about it until kids got ready for Trick or Treat. Then there were some real down pours but the coverage was spotty.
Saturday, it rained off and on throughout the day, at times pouring down hard enough to clean out our gutters and give the lawn a good watering. The rain guage read 1" when we set our clocks back and went to bed.Saturday night must have been a good rainy night although we didn't hear it. But when we got up in the morning our rainfall meter showed slightly over 2 inches. And we finally turned on the heater.
