Carolyn and I had the occasion recently to visit an attorney's office. We are in the process of updating and restating our Living Trust. Since we now live 350 miles away from the attorney who drew up our original Trust, we accepted the recommendation of our retirement financial adviser. As we sat down in the waiting room of the recommended attorney, I could tell we were going to get along just fine. The sculpture pictured above towered prominently in the corner.
Two books were on the end table next to my seat.
And even the candy dish on the coffee table in the center of the room looked familiar. A lawyer who can choose sharks as his interior design leitmotif has a sense of humor. There were many more examples in his office but I think you get the idea.
We haven't finished with our business of redrawing the trust but the first meeting, at least, was as delightful and impressive as we thought it was going to be.
