The swimming pool at Carmichael Park has become unusable which is a shame because the park otherwise is so attractive and multi-functional. There is a band shell, two complete play structures, tennis courts, and even a nice dog run. But the pool needs help. Actually the Department of Parks and Recreaction has shut down the pool and is now drawing up plans to replace it. Thinking that some additional funding might bring about the replacement a little faster than otherwise, Carmichael has started a fund-raiser - "Shades of Carmichael".
Local artists were recruited to paint patio sun shade umbrellas to be auctioned off this weekend. Both mature and young artists were involved. In a couple of cases, groups of children participated. You can see some of the elaborate examples here. I tried to upload more pictues but Blogger decided it didn't want to cooperate any more today.
It was a really fun event for a good cause.
Nice idea with this site its better than most of the rubbish I come across.
