As it turns out for us... no one. That's not strictly true as we had a total of 2 children and 1 adult come to our front door for Trick or Treat last night. We might have missed some because we had to make a quick run to the library. But we couldn't have been gone more than 20 minutes.
It's not that we expected a huge run on our candy - we only bought 2 small bags of Snickers - but we had expected slightly more than 2 children.
With our own grandchildren, we see that they have so many opportunities for SUPERVISESD trick or treating with school, church, even work-related opportunities that there really is no reason for going out into unfamiliar neighborhoods even if Mom or Dad are just 20 feet away on the sidewalk. And I would think that parading around in your costume would actually have more meaning when your audience consists of people you know or at least your family knows.
Now the problem is what to do with two small bags of Snickers (minus 2 bars). Our philosophy has always been to buy candy that we like so that if there's any left over we'll enjoy eating the leftovers. Maybe we should now change our philosophy and buy only candy we don't like so that we won't feel bad about throwing away the leftovers.
I know someone that'll take care of those for you the next time she's up there.
ReplyDeleteYou know, considering even ADULTS can't find your house in the dark, it's not that surprising you didn't get many KIDS.
