We have a couple of traditions at our house. One is that we start getting out the Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving. This year with all our kids and grandkids here visiting, we were able to set up virtually all the Christmas decorations that day. We were also able to get several things done around the house in preparation for winter in general. It was a big help for those of us getting on in age.
The other tradition is taking all the Christmas decorations down the day after Christmas. That, we didn't get done as well. Without the pressure of heading to Southern California right after Christmas, we spread out the work over the whole week between the holidays. Still, we were able to get everything taken down, boxed up and stored away in the storage room or garage for next year.
