With nighttime temperatures projected to be in the mid-20's for the next 3 or 4 nights, Carolyn has "decorated" the citrus trees in our backyard with strings of large-bulb Christmas lights, the kind that emit quite a bit of heat and were originally meant for outside decorations anyway. It wasn't easy to find them as people have been moving to the mini-lights and now even to LEDs. But she's hoping that the heat from these together with the cover of a sheet will keep the citrus trees from feeling the worst of the local freeze. And in any case we can stand around and sing a couple of choruses of "O Citrus Tree!"
