Another good reason to have kids visit us is that it gives us an excuse for going out. This past weekend Steven and Lisa drove up from Santa Cruz. Ed and Tiffany's boys were on an overnighter with their friends so it was an opportunity for the six adults to get together and enjoy some good food and good conversation before the play for which we all had tickets. We decided on Arby's as there is no Arby's in Santa Cruz so this is a treat for Steven and Lisa. Besides it is fast so we would definitely get to the play on time.
As we walked into Arby's Carolyn looked into her wallet and said loudly to the group, "If you keep it under $40, I'll pay." Well, of course no one paid a bit of attention figuring we'd all pitch in anyway. Here is the sales slip:
Carolyn didn't believe that it was just a coincidence. But she was a good sport and paid the bill. We even let her keep the 43 cents change.
