The waiting game...

Yes, we know you have all been anxiously waiting for news about the prognosis of Carolyn's treatments, and yes, we have been telling everyone that we would know this afternoon after Carolyn's appointment with the Kaiser oncologist.

But......we hadn't counted on someone at Kaiser (and no one is naming names) canceling Carolyn's appointment without notifying her or letting her know the reason for the cancellation. Whoever it was, didn't even have the brains to notify the rest of the office staff so that another appointment could be made. When Carolyn asked what she could do to make sure this didn't happen in the future, she was assured it wasn't her fault and it certainly shouldn't have happened this time. But no one was going to inconvenience a doctor or another patient to try to get Carolyn an appointment earlier than next week. That's just the way it is.

Part of us says that the news must be good or they wouldn't have acted so cavalier. Another part says the doctor hadn't read the chart so he was too embarrassed to keep the appointment. Another explanation is that chemotherapy, if necessary, won't start until she's fully healed from the operation so there's really no hurry for the oncology consult.

Bottom line..... We'll probably know something next week, same time, same place.

Thanks for your love and prayers.
